Longshaw bench in wood & stone
An oak bench with a dry stone wall 'windshield' so visitors can enjoy the stunning view in a rather exposed location. Commissioned by the National Trust and locatednext to the Longshaw Visitor Centre. You can see the making of this bench on Robin's blog here and here.

Charlton on Otmoor bench
An unusual long bench for up to six people with central arms and back rest commissioned by the Stile Company for the community of Charton on Otmoor.

Made from pieces of curved oak, the surface is burnt with a blow torch, scrubbed to remove loose material and finally oiled to seal the surface.

It was not easy fitting the bench inside a living willow arbour, but the result was both visually pleasing and comfortable. It was made from naturally curved oak and finished with linseed oil.
