Swedish inspiration
Our original spoon carving inspiration and guidance came around fifteen years ago from traditional carver Wille Sundqvist's book 'Swedish Carving Techniques' which sadly it is out of print now. More recently we have travelled and worked in Sweden where we feel very at home because they still respect and teach traditional craft skills and welcome visiting craftsmen.

In 2002 Robin was fortunate enough to attend the last course Wille Sundqvist taught in the UK. Not only is he a skilled craftsman, but he is a skilled teacher and brought our own spoon carving to a new level.

We particularly love visiting Sätergläntan, Sweden's 'College of Handicrafts', where Robin periodically teaches turning. As well as feeding their participants stunning food, they serve it in beautiful, hand crafted bowls with some of the best spoons we have ever seen!
