This nest of dairy bowls is made of alder and the form is the traditional shape for dairy bowls. Milk would be put to stand over night in these bowls and the cream skimmed off in the morning. It’s a wonderful timeless traditional design. All 4 bowls are cut from one piece of wood one inside the other so the grain runs through. It took me five years to master this lost art and I typically use around 20 different home forged hook tools to cut around the back and release each inner bowl. They are unique collectors pieces but fantastic to use and will age beautifully.
