These are the three tools I use for bowl carving. All made by the Swedish master blacksmith Hans Karlsson. The interior of the bowl is roughed out with the adze the sides smoothed with the shallow bent gouge and the bottom finished with the dog leg gouge. The bowl can be finished straight from the gouges with skill, or I tend to use a specially designed long bent knife I have made specially for the job or in Sweden they often let the bowl dry then finish with a cabinet scraper.
