Galician spoon
£25
These are based on some I saw in an ethnographic museum during a recent trip to Spain. Those in the background in this photo are awaiting finishing by Nicola, but they are now complete and all look like the one in the foreground. They are made from birch, which when soaked in linseed goes almost translucent which is very attractive.
Galician spoon
£25
As with all new designs, I have been using one every day to see how they work and am very pleased with the result. It works well in my daily bowl of meusli and as a soup spoon. The slightly pointed end makes it also very good for my naughty indulgence; Haagen Dazs ice cream smoothie eaten straight from the tub!
Medieval eating spoon
£25
This attractive design with an octagonal handle is based on a Medieval spoon I found in a museum in Lubeck, North Germany.
1. small ladle
£35 :: approx 8" long :: holly
Holly has a tendency to twist eccentrically as it dries and this spoon did so more than most. Definitely one for someone right handed!
2. ladle
£45 :: approx 9" long :: sycamore
This was made from a really bent piece of wood so the bowl is at a really good angle to the handle. It has some great knots and swirls in the wood too.
3. serving spoon
£45 :: approx 10" long :: birch
This comes from the other half of the log to no 5. The log had a natural curve so it is a beautiful shape with the grain running around the bowl. It is also slightly spalted so a lovely colour.
4. small ladle
SOLD :: approx 10" long :: mahonia
A beautiful, elegant form which would make a lovely serving spoon for a deep jar. It was made from a piece of mahonia from our garden which had a lovely natural curve to it.
5. small servers
£25 each :: approx 7" long :: alder
Just a bit big to be eating spoons, but they are still lovely and will make great small serving spoons.
6. maple spoon
SOLD :: approx 10" long :: field maple
A simple serving spoon made from a naturally curved piece of maple. The bowl of the spoon is quite burry so has a lovely pattern and moved in an attractive way as it dried.
7. plum ladle
SOLD :: approx 10" long :: plum wood
A really stunning ladle with an unusual "ship's keel" carved detail running around the base of the bowl and the handle showing the paler sapwood. We carved this whilst staying with friends in Cornwall - a lovely sunny week during an otherwise wet summer!

8. serving spoon
SOLD :: approx 11" long :: birch
This is a lovely spoon and the photo doesn't do it justice. The crisp lines on the handle contrast superbly with the gently dimpled bowl. It's almost too good to sell.
9. little ladle
SOLD :: approx 6" long :: holly
A simple and elegant spoon made from clean grained holly with a natural curve. I use one of these for serving yoghurt on the table.
10. little ladle
SOLD :: approx 8" long :: mahonia
Another elegant, long handled ladle made from a piece of mahonia from our garden. I look out for pieces with interesting curves and set them aside for carving.
