Back in 2012 I was involved in a great project working for three months with bronze tools to create a half scale replica of the Dover boat. It was all filmed by Time Team and now 2 years later the program is finally ready to air. It goes out this Sunday 8pm on Chanel 4.

They say “The Bronze Age was the time when the British landscape became civilised, with fields, farms and the first roads, but little evidence survives of what life was like 3,500 years ago. However, in 1992, archaeologists in Dover town centre unearthed something that shed light on this mysterious era. Six metres underground they discovered the perfectly preserved remains of a large boat. Tony Robinson joins a team of experts as they strive to reconstruct the Dover Boat – one of the world’s oldest seagoing vessels – using only materials and tools from its era.”
